This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the RipIQ mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. 1.1 Information You Provide
When you use RipIQ, you may provide us with:
Video recordings of baseball swings that you record within the App or upload from your device's camera roll
Player profile information such as name, age, and batting side (stored locally on your device)
VIP or promotional codes you enter to access premium features1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect:
Device information such as device model and iOS version
App usage data including features accessed and frequency of use
Subscription and purchase information processed through Apple's App Store1.3 Video and Analysis Data
Videos you submit for analysis are sent to our secure backend server and transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered swing analysis. Video frames (not the full video file) are extracted and sent for analysis. Videos are not permanently stored on our servers and are not used to train AI models.2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide AI-powered swing analysis and coaching feedback
Store your swing history and analysis results locally on your device
Process subscription purchases and manage your account status
Validate promotional and VIP access codes
Improve the accuracy and quality of swing analysis
Respond to your support requests
Comply with legal obligations3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
We share video frame data with Anthropic, PBC (provider of the Claude AI API) solely to perform swing analysis. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy at anthropic.com/privacy. We use Railway (railway.app) to host our backend server infrastructure.
3.2 Apple
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of RipIQ, our users, or others.4. Data Storage and Security
Swing analysis results and your player profile are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not maintain a user account database or store personal information on our servers beyond what is necessary to process each individual analysis request.We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted HTTPS connections for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.5. Children's Privacy
RipIQ is designed to be used by baseball players of all ages, including children under 13, under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The App does not require account creation and stores all personal data locally on the device.Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use of the App and any videos submitted for analysis. 6.1 Access and Deletion
Because RipIQ stores swing history and player data locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by deleting the App from your device. This permanently removes all locally stored swing records, analysis results, and player profile information.
6.2 Camera and Photo Library Access
You can revoke the App's access to your camera or photo library at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security menu. Revoking these permissions will prevent you from recording or uploading swing videos.
6.3 Subscriptions
You can manage or cancel your RipIQ Pro subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings or the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.7. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies:
Anthropic Claude API (anthropic.com/privacy) — AI swing analysis
Apple App Store & StoreKit (apple.com/privacy) — subscription management
Railway (railway.app) — backend server hosting8. Data Retention
We do not retain video data on our servers after an analysis request is completed. Swing analysis results stored on your device are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App. Server logs may be retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the Effective Date at the top of this policy and, for material changes, by posting a notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.10.
